Consumer Terms

These terms apply when you use Tankful as a household customer to compare heating-oil prices, view supplier information, set alerts, submit an enquiry, or use a supplier-pilot order flow where the checkout says it is enabled. Business customers should also read the Business Order Terms. Suppliers should read the Supplier Terms.

1. Price comparison, supplier directory, alerts, reorder reminders, support tools, and educational information about heating-oil markets in Ireland.
2. Enquiry tools that pass the details you choose to the oil supplier you select.
3. Order and payment flows only where expressly enabled for a named supplier pilot. The supplier remains the fuel seller; Tankful provides comparison, order workflow, and payment facilitation where the checkout says it applies. See the Supplier Sales and Payment Facilitation.

Prices, delivery windows, minimum litres, fuel types, and coverage areas can change quickly. Tankful shows timestamps, reliability checks, source information, and older-data warnings where available. A displayed price is not a binding supplier offer unless the checkout or supplier confirmation clearly says so.

You must check the final price, litres, fuel type, delivery address, access notes, cancellation terms, and payment terms before placing an order. We may remove, correct, or annotate supplier data where it is stale, inaccurate, disputed, unlawfully copied, or no longer suitable for publication.

Frozen aggregate weekly release tables, charts, CSV files and JSON files are separately licensed under the Tankful aggregate data licence (CC BY 4.0). That licence does not extend to supplier-specific source material, private data, Tankful branding, or third-party content.

• The oil supplier you choose is the seller of the heating oil.
• Tankful may pass your enquiry to that supplier, but the supplier decides whether to accept it.
• The supplier confirms the final price, delivery, payment, cancellation, refund, and complaint terms.
• Your contract to buy heating oil is with the supplier, not Tankful.
• For a supplier pilot that the checkout expressly says is enabled, the named supplier remains the fuel seller and delivery provider; Tankful may facilitate payment through the approved workflow.

Tankful does not currently take public online payment for heating-oil orders. Do not send card details through Tankful support, forms, SMS, email, or supplier portal notes. See Supplier Sales and Payment Facilitation.

1. Provide accurate contact details, Eircode, address, property, tenant, tank, and access-note information.
2. Ensure the tank can safely receive the requested delivery and that a supplier can access it.
3. Do not submit false orders, abuse alerts, scrape the service, reverse engineer data feeds, or interfere with security controls.
4. Do not upload or submit unlawful, misleading, confidential, or unnecessary third-party personal data.

Cancellation and refund rights depend on the order model, fuel status, dispatch status, and supplier terms. Oil delivered into a tank generally cannot be returned in the same way as ordinary goods. See Refunds and Cancellations for the detailed policy.

Email price alerts are free and are the price-alert channel offered through the public alert form. An optional text-alert path may be available only after email confirmation and separate provider-readiness checks; it is a distinct service with its own explicit SMS permission, current pricing, opt-out instructions, and terms. Setting or confirming an email alert does not create an SMS alert.

Alerts, recent prices, price coverage, Autopilot, reorder reminders, and supplier rankings are decision-support tools. They may use rules, thresholds, when prices were last checked, geography, supplier availability, payment capability, and historical behaviour. They do not guarantee the cheapest price, supply, delivery, or future market movement.

Suppliers may receive access to listing, pricing, enquiry, customer, and reporting tools. Supplier staff must keep login links and sessions secure, use customer data only for the relevant enquiry or order, and comply with the Supplier Terms.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including consumer statutory rights, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, Tankful is not responsible for indirect loss, supplier failures in supplier-direct orders, market price changes, older public price information despite reasonable controls, or losses caused by inaccurate information you provide.

We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes affecting existing paid orders will not reduce your statutory rights. For questions, use the contact form.
