Tankful shows recent heating oil prices from oil suppliers’ own websites, each with the date we checked it.
Tankful doesn’t add a fee to prices taken from suppliers’ websites. You order from the oil supplier, who confirms the price, delivery day and payment with you.
Oil suppliers with a recent price for your county and order size come first, cheapest displayed total first. Oil suppliers with older prices follow, then those with no displayed price. The directory can also be sorted A-Z.
County match, selected litres, price recency and displayed total set the default position. No oil supplier can pay for a higher one. The HVO and recent-price filters only change which oil suppliers are shown.
Many oil suppliers appear on Tankful before claiming their listing. For these we show publicly visible prices where we can find them, with a source and last-checked label on each row.
Tankful adds no buyer fee to the comparison price on an unclaimed listing.
Any oil supplier can claim their listing for free. A claimed supplier can correct coverage, contact details, and price information.
Oil suppliers can also post their own prices through a manual price update portal. Those prices can show a supplier-supplied price label, and can be marked out of date or unavailable, or hidden.
Some oil suppliers also choose to receive Tankful enquiries with litres, Eircode, phone, and tank notes. The oil supplier confirms the final price, availability and delivery details with the customer before an order is placed, and payment is not taken unless the supplier has enabled online payments.

You can add prices you control or take Tankful order requests later. Claiming a listing never requires paying to rank above cheaper or more recent prices.

Oil suppliers take order requests or online payments only if they choose to. Comparing prices and setting alerts are free for households.
