How much heating oil do I need?
Your own past deliveries tell you far more than any table based on house size. Here is how to turn them into a daily figure, and what that means for a 500-litre order.

Work out your daily use
Take two tank readings and add any deliveries in between:
Oil used = oil at the start + oil delivered − oil left at the end.
Start with 400 litres, take 500, finish with 300, and you used 600 litres. Over 60 days that is 10 litres a day. Compare periods with similar weather; a cold month and a mild one give very different answers.

Bigger orders, lower unit price
1,000 litres often works out cheaper per litre, but minimum orders and delivery charges vary by supplier, so compare the delivered total for each size.
