How the figures are calculated

Tankful compares only counties represented in both seven-day windows. It takes each county's weekly midpoint, then gives every matched county equal weight in the national midpoint. Publicly listed prices are observations, not completed sales or guaranteed quotes.

  1. A frozen issue is scheduled each Tuesday at 06:20 Europe/Dublin, with up to five minutes of randomized delay, using observations available at publication time; scheduler retries do not change it.
  2. Only validated, publicly displayable kerosene observations at the stated delivery volume are included.
  3. Each supplier source contributes at most its latest observation for a county and Irish calendar day.
  4. For weekly comparisons, only counties with validated observations in both seven-day windows are used. Each county's weekly midpoint is the median of its daily midpoints, and each matched county has equal weight in the national midpoint.
  5. The published Q1 and Q3 bounds are descriptive context from the daily county-weighted national record. They are the medians of the seven daily Q1 and Q3 values, not quartiles pooled across every underlying observation.
  6. Weekly change compares the matched-county national midpoint with the preceding seven-day matched-county midpoint at the same delivery volume.
  • These are observed recent prices, not supplier-confirmed or bookable offers.
  • Coverage varies by county, supplier and delivery volume; an empty value is not estimated from another volume.
  • Final delivered price, fees, availability and timing must be confirmed with the named oil supplier.

  • The figures cover publicly listed kerosene prices at the stated delivery volumes.
  • Coverage for this release is 26 counties and 1,515 supplier-county-day observations.
  • Each delivery volume is measured independently; no value is inferred by multiplying or dividing another volume.
  • Weekly movement uses the same matched counties in both periods, so a change in geographic coverage cannot by itself create the reported movement.
