UK site privacy
You can browse published and sampled prices without an account. When you ask for a price using your own postcode, Tankful sends that postcode and quantity to the named suppliers so they can return a quote. No order or contact request is made. Do not enter your name or full address in the postcode field. Each supplier applies its own privacy policy; open its site before proceeding to an order. The UK site does not offer accounts or alerts. Server access logs may include your IP address, requested URL and technical information for security and operation. If you accept analytics, Mixpanel processes page views and tool use for Tankful; if you decline, it does not start.
What we use and why
Your postcode and litres are used to obtain the price comparison you request. We rely on our legitimate interests in providing that requested comparison. You can browse published prices without supplying your postcode. IP addresses and technical request information support site delivery, security and request limits under our legitimate interests in operating a reliable service. If you contact us, we use your message and contact details to answer, handle a complaint or exercise your rights; legal obligations may also require records.
Who receives information
A postcode check can send your postcode and litres to HomeFuels Direct (Certas Energy UK Limited), Ford Fuels Limited, Highland Fuels Limited and Estuary Oils Limited where their services support the request. We do not send your name, email or full street address. These suppliers are independent controllers for their quote services and may retain quote or audit records under their own privacy policies. Our hosting and security providers also process technical information to deliver and protect the site. Opening a supplier website takes you to that supplier's separate service.
How long information is kept
A UK postcode comparison does not create a Tankful customer, account or order record. Filters and planner entries are used in the current page and are not saved to an account. The postcode-check request limit uses an IP-based record in server memory with a one-hour window; expired records are removed during request cleanup or a process restart. The current access-log file is kept until it reaches its configured 100 MiB rotation size. Its archived files are configured for up to 30 days, with at most ten archives retained. Application and system logs are configured to rotate under a 200 MiB system limit and a two-week retention limit; these limits can remove older records sooner. Relevant records may be kept longer for an identified security incident, complaint, legal claim or legal obligation. Supplier quote retention follows each supplier's policy.
International processing
Tankful operates from Ireland. Infrastructure and supplier providers may process information in other countries. The UK's adequacy regulations cover transfers to Ireland and other EEA countries. Where a provider processes information elsewhere, the applicable arrangement must cover that destination and processing. Our broader privacy notice describes provider categories and transfer safeguards. Contact us for the arrangement relevant to your request and a copy of the applicable safeguards. Do not enter unnecessary personal or sensitive information into a postcode check.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restricted processing or a portable copy of your information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact the operator below; we aim to respond within one month and will explain any lawful extension or limitation. You can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office or the Irish Data Protection Commission. This comparison does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
