Buying heating oil in Northern Ireland
Many Northern Ireland oil suppliers publish their prices online for set amounts such as 300, 500 and 900 litres. Tankful collects those published prices so you can compare them in one place, sorted by the price for the amount you choose. Use the BT filter to see suppliers who list your postcode district.
A published price is a reference, not an order. Delivery areas, VAT, small-order charges and delivery times differ between suppliers. Confirm your address and the final delivered total with the supplier before you pay.
Local suppliers often deliver within a few working days, and some charge more for faster delivery. Ask how soon they can come if your tank is low, and tell them about narrow lanes or access problems before you agree the price.
Oil buying clubs, including those supported by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s Oil Buying Network, can lower the price by ordering together. If someone in your home is 75 or older, ask your supplier about the UKIFDA Cold Weather Priority scheme.

Domestic kerosene, delivery access and support for your household all matter alongside the price.
VAT on your heating oil
Qualifying domestic heating oil uses 5% VAT. Larger domestic deliveries do not automatically become business purchases. Confirm the rate and all charges on your quote.

If someone in your home is 75 or older, ask a participating oil supplier about UKIFDA's free Cold Weather Priority scheme. Register again when you change supplier. It does not guarantee immediate delivery.
Check the priority schemeA local supplier relationship
Compare the same kerosene, litres and delivery window. Tell the supplier about narrow access, a smaller tanker or other delivery needs before agreeing the full price. Check whether different brands belong to the same group.
